International Blue Shield's Mission to Haiti - Online Report

The Blue Shield International sent two experts in Port-au-Prince from 11th to 16th of April. Danielle Mincio (IFLA) and Christophe Jacobs (ICA and ANCBS) went there in order to work with the Haitian colleagues. They have taken all the necessary information to the establishment of the Blue Shield center for the treatment of damaged cultural heritage properties. This was also the opportunity to complete the assessments made previously to quantify the affected collections and various types of treatments which will be offered in this center.

Official recognition of a new Blue Shield Committee in Haiti

The International Committee on the Blue Shield is very pleased to share with you the official recognition of a new Blue Shield Committee in Haiti. Our colleagues deployed huge efforts to rescue and protect their rich and unique cultural heritage since January. The Blue Shield wishes to congratulate them wholeheartedly to decide to set up this National Blue Shield Committee. This is a good occasion for everybody to work in a more closer relationship with this new structure.

Blue Shield actions for safeguarding heritage in Haiti

The international Blue Shield network worked hard last weeks on defining an action plan for helping Haitian colleagues. You will find in this press release all the actions we are developing and proposing to our partners. Some have already been done, others are ongoing. If you want to help us by becoming a partner of these actions, please feel free to join us.
